Documentation & Client Guidance

Understanding Certified Translations

Many organisations and authorities require documents to be translated in a specific format before they can be accepted officially. Requirements can vary depending on the country, authority or organisation requesting the documentation.

Bridgepoint Translations can assist with:

  • Standard document translations
  • Certified translations
  • Sworn translations
  • Notarised translations where applicable

If you are unsure which level of certification may be required, we are always happy to discuss your requirements before work begins.

We strongly recommend confirming document requirements directly with the receiving authority wherever possible, particularly for immigration, legal or governmental submissions.

Sworn & Official Translation Requirements

Certain official documents may require a sworn or legally recognised translation depending on the destination country and purpose of the documentation.

Examples may include:

  • Birth certificates
  • Marriage certificates
  • Medical records
  • Residency documentation
  • Court documents
  • Financial paperwork
  • Academic certificates

As requirements differ internationally, we will advise where possible on the most suitable translation format for your needs.

Commonly Requested Documents

We regularly assist clients with the translation of:

  • Medical documentation
  • Personal records
  • Legal paperwork
  • Financial and fiscal documents
  • Residency and immigration documentation
  • Identification documents
  • Certificates and supporting evidence

All documents are handled with discretion, professionalism and strict confidentiality.

Secure File Handling

Protecting sensitive client information is extremely important to us.

Bridgepoint Translations uses secure encrypted file transfer systems for the safe handling of client documentation. Each client is provided with a secure upload and download process designed to protect confidential information throughout the project lifecycle.

All files are stored securely on protected in-house systems and are routinely removed following project completion in accordance with our privacy procedures.

Further information regarding our secure upload process can be found within our Help & Support section.

Original Physical Documents

Where original documents are required for certification or official purposes, we can arrange individual collection and delivery.
All originals are handled with care, collected and returned via tracked courier service requiring proof of delivery signature.

Please contact us directly to discuss physical document handling requirements before sending any original paperwork.

Translation Turnaround Expectations

Every document is different and turnaround times can vary depending on:

  • Document length
  • Complexity
  • Certification requirements
  • Formatting requirements
  • Urgency of the request

Once we have reviewed your documents, we will provide an estimated completion timeframe together with a clear quotation before any work proceeds.

We always aim to provide a prompt, efficient and cost-effective service without compromising accuracy or confidentiality.

Preparing Your Documents

To help us provide the most accurate translation possible, we recommend:

  • Providing clear, legible scans or photographs
  • Including all pages of the document
  • Informing us of any deadlines in advance
  • Advising us if certification or notarisation may be required

Where names, reference numbers or official identifiers must remain unchanged, please ensure these are clearly visible in the source material.

Digital & Physical Copies

Completed translations can normally be delivered digitally using our secure document delivery system.

Where physical certified copies are required, these can be arranged separately depending on the nature of the documentation and destination requirements.

International Document Acceptance

Different countries, organisations and government departments may apply different standards regarding translated documentation.

While we will always do our best to guide clients appropriately, final acceptance of any translated document remains at the discretion of the receiving authority.

For this reason, we encourage clients to verify requirements directly with the relevant organisation before commissioning certified or sworn translation work.

Client Support

We understand that official documentation can sometimes feel complicated or unfamiliar, particularly when dealing with international processes or multilingual paperwork.

Bridgepoint Translations aims to provide clear communication, professional guidance and a supportive service throughout every stage of the translation process.

If you have any questions regarding documentation requirements, certification options or secure file handling, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
